Cross-examination of defendants
Cross-examination of the defendants took place during the trial sessions of 14, 19, 20, 21 and 26 February.
All defendants refused to answer questions from the People’s Prosecution represented by the political party VOX. Some of them, like Oriol Junqueras and Raül Romeva, only answered their lawyer’s questions.
Oriol Junqueras
Oriol Junqueras only answered questions from his lawyer and the cross-examination took approximately 2 hours.
The President of the Court did not intervene at any point to limit the lawyer’s questions or the defendant’s answers.
Joaquim Forn
Joaquim Forn answered questions from the defence, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Solicitor General of the State and the cross-examination took approximately 3.5 hours.
During the cross-examination the President of the Court intervened in multiple occasions.
Jordi Turull
Jordi Turull answered questions from the defence, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Solicitor General of the State and the cross-examination took almost 4 hours.
The cross-examination took place with multiple interventions by the President of the Court.
Raül Romeva
Raül Romeva only answered questions from his lawyer and the cross-examination took aproximately 1.5 hours.
The President of the Court did not intervene at any point to limit the lawyer’s questions or the defendant’s answers.
Josep Rull
Josep Rull answered questions from the defence, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Solicitor General of the State and the cross-examination took almost 3.5 hours.
The President of the Court intervened in some occasions during the cross-examination.
Dolors Bassa
Dolors Bassa answered questions from the defence, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Solicitor General of the State during approximately 2.5 hours.
The cross-examination took place without incidents or interventions from the President of the Court.
Meritxell Borràs
Meritxell Borràs answered questions from the defence, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Solicitor General of the State during 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The cross-examination took place without incidents.
Carles Mundó
